My Client Doesn’t Know Where He Is-- Defining Incapacity and Dealing With It: A Medical/Legal Perspective
A client’s incapacity is a confounding professional dilemma. Sometimes a client’s condition evolves and sometimes it appears in an instant. This program will inform as to medically and legally based parameters for the determination of a client/patient’s incapacity and will illustrate how the definitions and diagnosis impact the objectives, actions and documents of the incapacitated client. Medical testing methods used in determining incapacity will be discussed and the impact of certain cognitive and executive function deficits will be reviewed.
